What a bandana is
bandana cap

I think we all know what a bandana is, but not everyone is aware of where a bandana came from.

A bandana is a triangular or square piece of fabric tied around the head, hair, face or neck for protective or decorative purposes. Usually it is printed in a paisley pattern, which is an ornamental design – a teardrop-shaped motif with a curved upper end. It originated in India as bright coloured handkerchiefs of silk and cotton.

And now a little history lesson. In Western culture the first-ever bandana, as we know it today, appeared during the American Revolution. It was designed around year 1780 by John Hewson and it was showing George Washington on horseback. It was decorated with cannons, flags and a promotional text. From that time bandanas were frequently used in political campaigns for centuries.

Following history of a bandana you will find that it had a massive impact on many different cultures. But lets get back to our times. Today bandanas are versatile accessories that can be worn in many ways by men and women. We also love to dress our dogs with bandanas!

But how to tie a bandana?

Different Styles of Wearing Bandana

BANDANA SIZE

A gray bandana used for this presentation has 50 cm by 50 cm and it's folded in half. All instructions are based on a triangular shape.

STYLE A

Bring the two corners of the bandana around your head to meet behind it. Keep the edge of the bandana above your ears. Tie the ends together.

STYLE B

Tie the bandana with a  knot as in the style A. Tuck in the overhanging top corner behind the knot.

STYLE C

Fold the bandana into a headband. Position the folded bandana on or near your hairline. Make a knot in the back (under a ponytail if you have one).

STYLE D

Fold the bandana into a headband. Pull the ends of the bandana up around your head, above your ears, and to to the top of your head. Make a knot.

STYLE E

Fold the bandana into a headband. Simply tie the bandana around your neck, loosely, do not choke!

STYLE F

Do not fold the bandana, just tie it loosely around your neck and make a knot in the back.

STYLE G

Use the bandana as a face mask. Make a knot in the back. Make sure that the bandana isn't too tight or too loose before securing it.

STYLE H

Fold the bandana in increments of the same width you'd like your bracelet to be. Wrap the bandana around your wrist and tie. Double the knot to secure it, if you like.

How to wear our bandana caps

Wearing our bandana cap is much more easier then putting on your head a regular bandana. I’ll explain the difference between them.

bandana    bandana cap

The regular bandana is a simple triangular shape, which must be formed into a cap directly on your head. This isn’t always easy and fast. We’ve made some adjustments to a triangle to simplify the process. We’ve used a larger sized cotton fabric. Some parts of the triangle were cut, we’ve added an elastic band in the back and to make it more practical we’ve added a nice visor.

Since a regular bandana takes some time to adjust, our bandana cap  is like: put on, tie and go!

Our Brimmed Bandana Caps are made of 100% Cotton, hypoallergenic, breathable, comfortable and easy to wear! One size fits all and there is extra room to tuck in long hair in the cap.
It fits perfectly and stays firmly on a head.

They are the perfect choice for sunny, hot days on the beach, for work in the garden, to walk with your dog, or any other outdoor activity at summer. They provide full protection for your eyes. Your head will never overheat and there is no chance you will lose it in the wind ( absolutely ideal for boat rides!).

They were tested many times. Personally I love them a lot and there is no summer vacation without them for me!
